About

I am a designer with a profound love for the craft, dedicated to transforming ideas into stunning visual narratives. With a wealth of experience and a keen eye for detail, I believe that exceptional design is more than just aesthetics; it's about telling stories and building meaningful connections. I understand that every brand has a unique identity, and strive to create designs that authentically reflect my clients' values, aspirations, and target audience.
As well as working as a Freelance Designer, I am also a Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University running modules teaching the skills for employment within the design industry which look to encourage students to build their own brand and learn to respond to client briefs.

At Rachel Louise Designs, I believe that exceptional design is more than just aesthetics; it's about telling stories and building meaningful connections. I understand that every brand has a unique identity, and we strive to create designs that authentically reflect your values, aspirations, and target audience.
My services span a wide range of design disciplines, from logo design and branding to print collateral, digital graphics, and beyond. This holistic approach ensures that the designs not only captivate and engage but also align seamlessly with your broader marketing and business goals.

Academic

As a Lecturer in Graphic Design at Canterbury Christ Church University, I combine academic expertise with extensive industry experience to deliver innovative teaching that mirrors real-world professional practices. I'm passionate about implementing a 'design for good' philosophy throughout our curriculum, to prepare students for making meaningful societal impacts through design.
Currently pursuing my PhD, my research explores undocumented women's stories and their relationship with geographical place and social cultures. This academic work extends to collaborative research with the Metropolitan Police on domestic abuse awareness in secondary schools.
As Course Lead for the MA in Visual Communication and a practicing Graphic Designer and Art Director, I maintain strong industry connections working with international clients and local agencies. I'm currently leading the development of a new MA Graphic Design course for 2026 and establishing an annual conference in Kent for regional creative practitioners. My academic credentials include a First Class BA Honours in Graphic Design, a Masters by Research, and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHAE).
